For each issue, a Fashionable Fiction winner will be selected. The author of the Fashionable Fiction piece will have a t-shirt specifically designed based on their winning story. Each shirt will be fully inspired by the winning work of fiction. We promise you the shirts will be ingeniously created by the various artists that FIX IT BROKEN collaborates with, as well as professionally made by the people who do that sort of thing for a living. We'd like to think of it as a one-of-a-kind, undeniable gem, made just for you. All profit derived from shirt sales will act as a donation to FIX IT BROKEN, so that we can maintain our goal of bringing you quality fiction and fashionable t-shirts.

"Ex-Boyfriend's Head" - Issue #3 (Designer: Ryan W. Bradley)
Ryan W. Bradley was not shy about cutting right to the point with his Fix it Broken t-shirt design that embodies (or rather disembodies) Heather Fowler's story about cutting off an ex-boyfriend's head. Heather's fun and magical story, "Ex-boyfriend's Head," which deals with love and the quite literal pain it can cause is neatly depicted in Ryan's artistic rendition of a rather gruesome event.
We'd love to run this t-shirt as two versions. A men's tee with just the design and a women's tee with the title of the story added. T-shirts will be available for purchase on the site in two weeks, but before that we'd love for anyone who plans on ordering to send us an email at FixitBroken@yahoo.com, letting us know how many you'd like, sizes, and specifying either the men or women's design. If we can get an estimated headcount and it looks promising then we can print both versions of the shirt.
So send some emails and help us maintain our goal of bringing you quality fiction and fashionable t-shirts!

"I Built a Fourth House" - Issue #2 (Designer: Kristian Woodmansee)
Designer Kristian Woodmansee chose to employ a seemingly simplistic approach to his design process, keeping the theme visually vague and the true detail in the trees. This design choice parallels the ambiguity of J.A. Tyler’s piece, in which the woods and resolute ‘building’ of a house, at times, appear to be the only real aspects of the story, while the narrator struggles with deeply conceptual issues, such as death, family, security, and home. Kristian’s shirt represents “I Built a Fourth House” as something tangible, depicting the physical essence of man and nature; while what happens when the two mix is left to the imagination. Or to be more precise, J.A. Tyler’s bizarre and beautiful imagination.

"The Comfort of Dead Whales" - Issue #1 (Designer: Elusive Designs)
Harper's Hull's majestic, yet eerie story, "The Comfort of Dead Whales," which is about a man, his wife, a secluded island, and the mesmerizing remnants of a whale carcass, has been crowned Issue #1's Fashionable Fiction Winner. Kristian Woodmansee, of Elusive Designs, did a wonderful job creating the shirt to accompany the fiction piece. Kristian's design captures a sense of simplicity and subtle darkness that we feel pairs nicely with Harper's work, and of course is just plain cool to look at and wear. Shirts are limited, but they are for sale ($12) at Elusive Designs.
